On June 19th, 1956 the "Safety and Job Training Meeting" on a transmission line level was held at Corn Belt Cooperative in Humboldt, Iowa. The "Safety and Job Training Meeting" was officially named the "Midwest Transmission Conference," according to bylaws adopted in 1959. Since it's formation, the Midwest Transmission Conference has proved to be a valuable median for exchanging ideas in all aspects of the operation and maintenance of generation and transmission facilities and provides an excellent resource for networking with peers and vendors across the midwest portion of the country.
